For online, phone or email orders
We aim to hold most items in any range. If we have the item in stock your order will be dispatched within 24 to 48 hours. “Non Stock” Items which we do not hold in stock will normally be despatched within 5 working days. In the rare occurrence that our supplier has no stock we will endeavour to notify you within 48 hours of your order so that we can discuss how to progress your order.
he prices shown are only applicable to purchases made via the Solent Sail Shades website. All prices are correct at time of display online. In the unlikely event of an administrative error resulting in an incorrect price being displayed, we reserve the right to correct the price. In these circumstances, you will not be bound to continue with your purchase, and will be contacted and asked to email us to confirm that you wish to proceed.
If you need help or advice before making you order please contact us either by email by using the contact page or telephone (01489 788243, Mon-Fri 9.00am-5.00pm). Solent Sail Shades will confirm receipt of your order by sending an email to you using the email address supplied at time of payment; however this will not bring into existence a legally binding agreement between us. All orders placed on the Solent Sail Shades website are subject to stock availability and to the validation checks described below. Also please refer to the section above regarding incorrect prices. No contract will exist between you and Solent Sail Shades for the sale of products by us to you until full payment has been received. This will be deemed to be our acceptance of your order and to have been effectively communicated to you. Please note that the only language in which the contract can be concluded is English. Solent Sail Shades will retain details of your order in our database and these details can be made available on request.
Payment for online orders is through the Paypal payment system which accepts most major credit or debit cards. No Paypal account is necessary to make payment. For orders made over the phone, by email or in person, then acceptable payments are either Cash, Cheque or preferably by BACS bank transfer. Please note that payment is required at time of order.
All redit and charge card holders are subject to validation checks and authorisation by the card issuer. If the issuer of your payment card refuses to authorise payment, we will not be liable for any delay or non-delivery. In addition, in the interests of preventing fraudulent use of credit, debit and charge cards, Solent Sail Shades reserves the right to validate the names, addresses and other information supplied during the order process against commercially available records (e.g. Electoral Roll data). We may need to contact you by letter, telephone or email to verify details before we are able to despatch your order or we may be unable to accept your order.
The majority of card issuers cover all the charges that may result from unauthorised use of your credit card or debit cards, but some may limit your liability to £50. If you believe your credit or debit card has been subject to unauthorised use you should contact your card issuer without delay.
Delivery of Goods
We can deliver your items World Wide. Deliveries to non-mainland UK addresses and certain remote locations e.g. Scottish Isles, Isle of Man, Isle of Wight, Northern Ireland, Scottish Highlands, Channel Islands will be subject to an additional delivery charge and slightly longer delivery charges. Delivery to European and non-European addresses are dependent upon location, and some area codes can incur “extended area surcharges”. We will try our best to advise on these at point of order however we may need to contact you if this needs to be reviewed. The delivery charge for all online orders is applied at the checkout stage and is based on delivery to mainland UK addresses only. For non-mainland UK orders, please contact us for delivery charges. Should you fail to adhere to this condition and place an order online, then we will contact you advising you of the additional amount required for delivery and offer you various methods of payment. You will have 7 days to respond to our request or the order will be cancelled and money refund via the same payment method. Our courier offers an order tracking facility and directions on its use will be forwarded to you on demand. You will be advised of the estimated date of delivery and will be shown within the tracking facility. Please ensure somebody is available to take delivery of the parcel if possible. If no one is at home the deliverer will leave a card to enable you to arrange re-delivery or pick-up from the courier’s local depot. Delivery to all addresses will be despatched using the most suitable and economical method available
If a product is available to purchase online, post and packaging is charged in addition to the prices shown. We make every effort to keep our delivery charges as low as possible. The delivery charge is based on per order and not on the quantity/size/weight/value (limit £500) of the products ordered . When you add products to your shopping cart the delivery charge will be added automatically. All delivery charges will be shown clearly throughout the checkout process. However we may need to contact you to advise if the items ordered cannot be delivered at the estimated delivery charge, at which point you may decide whether to proceed with the order or cancel.
Delivery times are calculated in working days - i.e. Monday to Friday inclusive (working days do not include weekends or National Bank Holidays). In case of Bank Holidays please allow an extra 2 working days. From the receipt of your order we will endeavour to deliver your chosen items to you within 4 working days providing the goods are in stock, unless a longer delivery time is shown on the product information page. Deliveries to non-UK Mainland, Overseas or remote locations will take longer. Risk in the goods will pass to you on delivery. Goods delivered by courier should arrive between 8am and 6pm, Monday to Friday. All deliveries sent via courier must be signed for. If you are out when the courier arrives the Courier will leave a card with the contact number for you to call to arrange a suitable time for redelivery or for you to collect the goods from the local depot. Please Note we do everything we can to meet the delivery time specified in this section, however occasionally delivery times may be affected by factors beyond our control and cannot be guaranteed. We will inform you if we become aware of an unexpected delay.
Complaints and Queries

We will do everything we can to help you.
Solent Sail Shades Ltd will not be held responsible for goods lost or damaged in transit unless an insurance fee has been paid. Shortages or damage claims must be made within three days of receipt of order. All packing materials should be retained. Carefully check all deliveries for condition before signing ANY acceptance note. In the event of non-delivery 21 days after placement of order, please advise our Staff who will be happy to investigate.
You may cancel your order at any time prior to cutting any item to size or to despatch; whichever comes first. Please contact us immediately on 01489 788243 and we will advise you on the next steps. Items already sent will come under the following terms:- Bespoke items and items cut to size i.e. ‘of the roll’ (e.g. material, rope, chain, wire, webbing etc) are not returnable. If you decide that you do not want any item, which we have delivered then, provided that it is returned to us in its original and unused condition (including in its original packaging), along with the wrapping and delivery note (as proof of purchase) within 28 days of delivery, we will exchange it or offer a refund. Refunds on unwanted items will however be subject to a handling charge of 10% to cover administrative costs. We are unable to refund any postage costs, just the original price of the goods. We warranty all our items for a period of one year against faulty manufacture and workmanship. This warranty does not apply in any of the following circumstances: the defect is caused by any improper use of the product or its use for a purpose other than that which the product was designed or intended; if the defect occurs wholly or partly as a result of any act or omission of a person other than Solent Sail Shades or the manufacturer; if the product is altered or modified in any way; the product is erected, installed or used contrary to, or in a manner inconsistent with, the instructions or warnings by either Solent Sail Shades or the manufacturer; if domestic knitted shade cloth is used for any purpose other than for a domestic application; if the product has been subject to misuse, neglect, accident or abuse; colour fading of the product (even if due to exposure of the product to ultra violet rays) or a deterioration in the chemical composition of the fabric due to exposure to ultra violet rays; any damage to the product caused or contributed to by exposing the product to chemicals (including chlorine), placing the product near an open flame (including flames from a barbecue) or any other human made heat source, tensioning the product beyond its tear and tensile capabilities or mechanical friction. For UV and any other warranties, please refer to the literature that may accompany the item.
If you purchase a product from us which fails within our one year warranty period or after fitting you believe is faulty please ring 01489 788243 with details of the fault. We will send you a Warranty Claim form for you to fill out. Please describe the fault/defect(s) which you think are covered by the Limited Warranty as accurately as possible. Please provide photographic evidence to back up your claim. This form fully completed should be returned to us with the item and we will forward it on to our supplier where the item will be tested to see if the fault was due to a faulty part or if it was due to faulty fitting. If the fault is due to the part we will refund the costs associated with the purchase including your carriage cost to send the item back, we do not cover consequential costs. Unfortunately if the fault is found to be due to poor fitment the warranty claim will be rejected. If you are not sure about how to fit an item please get an expert to do so, poor installation could be potentially dangerous. For other warranties, please take it up with the manufacturer. Reproduction of colour online is as accurate as photographic and electronic processes will allow.
